My friend saw this look and said, "whats with the dish washing gloves?"







A pair of my gloves were used in the show.

I was confused as to why she wasnt wearing any pants.

I thought she was the prettiest model.


Overall the show was just 'ok'. It was so much hype behind it and I was looking forward to it being something spectacular but honestly in my opinion it didnt live up to the hype. Thankfully I didnt have to help backstage and I was able to sit in the audience and see the magic, or lack of. I was pretty buzzed from what I was drinking, and I was making fun of one of the models for doing the typical 'hand on your hip black girl from the hood pose' I was laughing and imitating her so hard because I guess she really thought she was doing something 'high fashion'. Heres all the things I felt was wrong with the show.

1. The show was suppose to start at 3pm. It instead started at 9pm.

2.The show was titled 'fashion fights cancer' but i felt like they didnt elaborate on the 'cancer' aspect of it. They didnt even mention the word 'cancer' at all.

3. You didn't really know what designer, designed what because the designers never came out and showed their faces after the final walks...nor did they flash the designers name anywhere on any kind of screen...but speaking of walks

4.NONE and I'm mean NONE of the models could walk.

5. Some old guy sitting in the front row got so drunk that he fell out of his seat and embarassed who I think was his daughter. (i didnt see it happen because i was too busy laughing at something else, but i got that information from my sources which were my friends sitting next to me who apparently saw it happen.

6. The DJ screwed the music up a couple of times during the show.

7. Then you had some knock off cunt who basically was dying for attention trying to do a runway walk before the show started.
and that pretty much sums up why the show didnt live up to its hype. It wasnt like I was expecting the show to be up to Alexander McQueen'sshows ...i mean who has that kind of budget but sheesh. This show couldve been a whole lot better.

This makes me sad. I hope the rumors of suicide arent true. Even though I didnt know her, I loved reading her blog and it would suck to know that such an eccentric yet cool and amazing person took her own life.

I am stressed out. My black sabbath collection has to be done the first week of december. Its suppose to be sponsored so we can get our fabrics. Gee, time is drawing near and I still havent been supplied with money to get my fabric. I swear that school is so unorganized and I'd be surprise if they actually give me the amount of money I need to get this black sabbath collection of mines looking legit.

I missed class today. Oh well. I was only going to come to get that money they promised me and hit the fabric store up. Since the class wasnt getting the money today, I figured going to class would be pointless because all of my patterns for the collection are done and sitting pretty. I just need my effing fabric now.

I have internship today. ugh. The place I intern at is having a fashion show next week. So my life will pretty much be devoted to that up until show time. Which means I barely have time to focus on my own damn collection

Theres a go green fashion show happening this saturday downtown that I totally forgot about. And I have to have gloves ready for a fashion show happening downtown next saturday.

And with all these shows happening I still have to make me 2 sickening garments to wear. One for the December show and One for the show my Gloves will be in next week.

And Im sitting here wondering why SCAD hasnt gotten my transcripts.

If this isnt Taryn Andre, then I don't know what is. These dresses go Hard and I want them badly, but I can't just up and drop 400$ on a damn dress as a starving artist. Hell I'm a designer, I can make dresses for my damn self, but I must admit I find these dresses absolutely gorgeous. I have been trying to rid myself of clothes that are black and short, but its so hard not to.

Black is just one of those colors I can't seem to escape, so I told myself that this fall/winter. I will keep most of my wardrobe dark, but I will add pops of color here and there. Like a red lip, or a ignorant pink boot or something.

So this pretty much was my weak attempt to be a gothic bride. I had absolutely no plans on going out yesterday, but friends tend to persuade me to get out my homebody shell. So there I was at a halloween college party having fun.

Sorry for the sucktacular pictures. Raindrops got on the camera lense.

So after stating that I was staying in this halloween due to stress. Here I am sitting in a costume, that only took me 10 minutes to whip up; on my way to a halloween party. I'll hopefully have pictures of my night and post them tomorrow.

Another ghey Halloween. I wont be dressing up as anything which sucks because back in September me and my friends were all talking about what we were going to be for halloween. As a whole we thought it would be cool to be the club kids. Besides that Idea I wouldve been libby from beetle juice. But due to a stressful yesterday(internship, guilt of eating chinese food at a ghetto place, car trouble, thinking of all the deadlines I must meet) and today's ugly rainy weather, I'm not in the mood for halloween.

I will be showcasing my gloves in a major fashion show happening her in atlanta this November. So I am kinda happy about that. I've been procrastinating about the online store because I got some much other junk going on. But its good junk, so I'm not mad.

Oh well. Today I must return to my fashion intenship. Just thought I'd randomly blog before the work load hits me once more.

looks like the leather/zipper/edge craze is spilling over into spring. It's like everyone wants to do the edgy look now a days (im guilty of it somewhat in my design aesthic) but its getting overbearing.

I do love the collection mainly because its 1.leather(my favorite textile) and 2.black (my favorite color) and 3.asymmetrical (my favorite aesthic)...basically the three things that I need to break away from as a designer.

so I pretty much wont be getting any sleep tonight.
-working on the glove store (im starting off with three different kinds that I havent shown before fabric wise)
- working on the designs for my black sabbath inspired collection
- i have an interview tomorrow

i should sleep so i can be ready for my interview but im prepared for that so with a good facial mask and coffee, I should be good for the night.

The Gloves

I would like to start selling them once I get a good amount of fabric. These are pretty much test gloves for myself to see which fabrics were difficult to sew/easy etc.
The gloves I will sell will be similar in styles but will vary in fabrics. They shall be available soon. I should be paying a visit to the fabric store today.

The school term is over. I'm only off for a week but i'm content with that. Next week its back to school. I only have collection class to take and my internship and then I'm graduating! yay me. So while I'll be working on personal project this week for myself, I also have to be applying to other schools and trying to figure out what my next move is going to be.

I have two important fashion shows coming up this fall/winter that I'm designing for. So this week break, really isnt much of a break. There is still design work to do. I have to be sketching for collections class. The theme for that class is doing a collection that is inspired by heavymetal/rock bands which will be feautred in one of the two important fashion shows I mentioned. I'll share my heavy metal band I'm doing my collection off of later when I actually start sketching.

Topshop- Shaggy Goat Hair Coat

Um. I need this. It looks just like the one in my dream. Yes i said it, my dream. I had a dream about a month ago, that I was shopping for Fall Winter pieces and I bought a black fur coat that was on sale for 11$...When i saw the price tag, I immediately knew I was dreaming. When I woke up, I was even more pissed because I didnt have the fur coat in real life.


Overall I think I'm going to be making most of my clothes for the fall. Its called being a broke fashion designer. Being broke tends to spark my creativity anyway.

I made this assymmetrical reversible jacket that I must show really soon. And I think I'm going to make myself a leather jacket as well. Imitation leather of course.
